Aw! You’re pregnant! Such an exciting time. Now you have begun the process of finding a photographer for your pregnancy pictures. What an overwhelming process, I know. We have some amazingly talented photographers in our town to choose from.
All of my sessions are on location. This means what I photograph you outside of a studio setting. Whether it’s in Old Town, Heritage Park, Mission Trails or another awesome San Diego location- it’ll be beautiful.
I spend a lot of time with my clients during their session. Being on location allows for many more backdrops for your portraits during your session. It also allows for clothing changes as the location changes. Sometimes we start at one spot such as in front of a cool door, and it gets boring after a few shots so its nice to be able to move to a new spot in the area to have variety.
Timing of your session is crucial. I shoot about an hour and a half before sunset, which allows for beautiful natural light through your session. The beauty of being on location is we can play a lot with the light!
No limitations on family members!
I treat maternity portrait sessions as a regular family session and include the family members. Why? Because this is not just for mom. It’s for the family. The only difference is the focus is more on mom and her belly.
Get Creative with our elements!
I welcome clients to bring different props/accessories they wish to use in their portrait sessions. From ultrasound pictures, to flowing maternity gowns-bring it! We will always try to utilize them and if you don’t like it, you don’t have to purchase it 🙂
And the best part- we are in San Diego! We have so many beautiful locations to choose from!
Remember- the best time to photograph your maternity portrait session is between 28-34 weeks!

I loved it when you said that in taking pregnancy photos, the kids can also be included since it’s not just about the mom and the unborn kid but about the whole family. It’s too bad I do not have other kids to share my baby with since this will be my firstborn. That would’ve been a lot of fun! But anyway, I will still keep this in mind for when I get pregnant with my second baby.
