Happy birthday to my little Lillybug

November 9, 2008 was the happiest day of my life (one of them) but I really thought I was going to freakin DIE… it really really HURT! This is the day my little lilly bug was born…the second I held her I said “you really hurt mommy!” She arrived with the lucky number 20 surrounding her… born 11-9 (11+9=20), was 7lb 13oz (7+13=20), was 20 3/4″ long, and was born at 20:20. No idea what it means, but I think it’s SOMETHING special. Anyway so everyone thought I was insane for going natural in a tub of water at Best Start Birth Center– however I am SO thankful I welcomed my baby girl into this world (as crazy of a world as it is) in that manner. Poor kid didn’t want to come out since all she heard mommy doing was screaming obscenities in pain! The second she was out, my husband and I knew our world had changed for the better. What will this child be like? When will she walk, when will she say our names, how long will she nurse for, will she be an artist like mommy or a book smart math kid like daddy…. when will she potty train… will she be a Disney kid? All these things run through your mind and then you don’t even realize as they are growing up it’s all happening so quickly! She loves Mickey & Minnie (like… a little too much), she was potty trained at 22 months, and she has a vocabulary of about 80-100+ words. She knows all her ABC’s when we show them to her, she is in her big girl bed as of a few months ago, she likes to be a smarty pants like daddy and doesn’t stop talking like mommy. She is a little artist for sure (better start saving for art school) and she definitely knows what she wants.

I can’t even begin to say how thankful we are for her in our lives and how happy we are that we are blessed with this incredibly special child. Happy 2nd birthday, Lillybug… we love you very very much and I’m not going to apologize for taking so many pictures of you 🙂 You will appreciate it when you are older… I promise 😉

Love,

Mommy (as you say “MOM!” and recently “Hilda-la-rie”)

A image from the second she popped out and was placed on my chest (yes a minute after this I nursed her… after I realized what the heck just happened):
Please don’t judge my prettiness… I just popped a kid out and was not about to care about how I looked! Though I should have thought about all my clients seeing this picture one day… oh well.

And Lilly last month:

Happy Birthday Lily! She is so lucky to have you as a mom, teaching her all those awesome things like her ABC’s and to love Mickey Mouse. Lily, keep being a little smartie making mama proud and when the terrific twos are over (around 2 1/2) go easy on mom and dad with the trickier threes. Love seeing the picture of the water birth. Enjoy this special day!

Aww Hillary…you looked beautiful in that tub right after giving birth. And look at Lilly looking up at you like that…you can only imagine what she was thinking. Thank you for giving me such a beautiful, amazing grandchild. I’m so lucky to be able to spend everyday with her…she’s been a life saver to me! Happy 2nd birthday Lilly….I love you very much and I’m so proud of you in all you can do at only 2 years old! But please stop doing your art work on my pergo floors.
