My baby has headed off to big kid school

Where has time gone? My baby girl had her first day of Transitional Kindergarten today 🙂 It’s a 2 year kinder the state offers so basically next year she will do “kinder” but it’s still exciting 🙂

Her dad came over to help get her ready super early, made her breakfast and I was able to do her hair super cute and get her ready. She was excited for her new classroom, new teacher, new friends, new lunch box etc. Can’t you remember your first day of school? I do. In fact I went to the same school which she was excited about.

We got into the classroom and she was a little hesitant. New room, way too many kids, new friends and she was very quiet. But she did her project and listened to the teacher then we left. I got a few pics of her in the room before we headed out. And yes, I am the mom who had her sit where the lighting was best for pictures (come on… all other moms who are professional photographers would be the same way!)

I am not sad. I am not crying. Should I be? I am sad that she is growing up quickly, but I am super excited that she is SO excited to learn and grow. Hopefully she will be like I was in school and love doing her work and help decorate the classrooms lol.

I have the same picture of me in 1987 on my first day of kinder at the same age. I am standing in the same spot as lilly. Who would have thought my kid would have the same pic as me. So cute. Don’t be jealous of my rockin hair do and awesome red outfit.
