Planning your teenager’s senior portraits is an exciting milestone—and one you’ll want to do right! Whether you’re celebrating their final year of high school or preparing for college announcements, here’s a quick guide to help you plan a smooth and memorable senior photo experience in San Diego.

Step One: Start With a Consultation
The first step is simple—contact me (form below) to schedule a consultation. This gives us a chance to talk through your vision, make sure we’re a good fit, and begin planning a session that’s unique to your senior. Ideally, you’ll want to book your consultation about 2-3 months before you’d like to do your session to ensure plenty of planning time.

When to Schedule Your Session
San Diego offers beautiful weather year-round, so you can schedule your portraits in any season. That said, if you’d like to include your teen’s college decision in the photos, spring is a perfect time. Just don’t wait too long—this allows time to design and order custom graduation announcements and keepsake artwork.

Where to Take Your Senior Portraits
The location is completely up to your senior! During our consultation, we’ll talk about their interests and style to choose a meaningful spot—whether that’s the beach, a scenic overlook, or something urban and bold. We’ll also plan outfit changes so their look fits the location and reflects who they are.

After the Session: Picking Your Favorites
About a week after your session, we’ll meet for your ordering appointment. This is when we select your favorite images, design an album, pick wall art, and create announcements. It’s an exciting step in the process where everything comes together beautifully.
